Pity Party

The pity party is over.  I move onward from now on.  Life is one big adventure – the good and bad.  It all just IS.  And I just AM.  : )  Tomorrow I will juice fast (and juice does not include wine or sodas) to get the ball rolling, as a way to celebrate my new outlook.

I am going to take things as they come, and not feel sorry for myself.

Wish me luck.  Old habits die hard.

ps.  Tomorrow I go back to work, so what better time to make changes.

pss.  I haven’t chosen my next book.  Any suggestions?

  3. I can relate other than the PF. You have to go into Twin Peaks with a decent amount of confidence and respect. You can pull this off Lauren. I'm under-trained but not under-motivated. Stay positive my friend!!!

  4. I've had a few pity parties myself and they're just no fun. I mean, it's nice so sulk and pout for a bit but after awhile, it just gets too damn depressing. So watch a funny movie, read some comics, do the crossword, or sit in the sun. Enjoy life.

And don't worry about the race. I mean, worry a little because it's a race and you always want to do your best and all that but seriously, don't worry. I know we're all human but I can't understand how people like you can lack confidence. And by "like you" I mean people that train hard, put tons of miles in, and have an awesome ability. You can do this. I have confidence in you. You will do great.

Oh, books. Hmm. Depends on what genre you like. For any genre (or fantasy in particular), give NAME OF THE WIND by Patrick Rothfuss a try. One of the best books I've read in the past 15 or so years. For running, try BORN TO RUN or 127 HOURS. Solidly entertaining and educational.

Not that you asked, but here's a list of what I'm reading right now:
    - RACING WEIGHT by Matt Fitzgerald
    - RUNNING WILD by John Annerino
    - SOJOURN by R. A. Salvatore (re-read)
    - BREAKING FREE OF THE CO-DEPENDENCY TRAP by Barry K. Weinhold and Janae B. Weinhold
    - NORSE WARFARE by Martina Sprague
    - FIFTY SHADES OF GREY by E. L. James
    - THE UNCIVILIZED YANKEE by V. V. Wedding
    - EAT & RUN by Scott Jurek
    - A CLASH OF KINGS by George R. R. Martin

    1. LOL. Lumberjack, ou read like I used to read -- I'd have a stack of 5 to 10 books next to the couch that I was currently reading (before I got my ADD under control). Seriously, thanks for the list. Looking forward to picking my next read (after the big race!)
